BRISBANE, Australia, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Boeing says its strategic communications technology is on schedule for acceptance from the Australia defense force marking a milestone for the company.

U.S. company Boeing announced its Modernized High Frequency Communications System has been in use with the Australia defense force for 130 days. The service achievement for the long-range, strategic communications system marks a milestone for Boeing's Australian business unit.

The Modernized High Frequency Communications System is designed to help secure the exchange of mission critical data between fixed and mobile stations in the communications network. Boeing says reaching the 130-day mark keeps the system on schedule.

"The 130-day service milestone is testament to the maturity of the system and shows that the team is on target for final system acceptance by the Australian defense force in the coming months," Steve Parker, Boeing Network and Space Systems-Australia vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
