Polaris launches Low Speed Vehicle

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. company Polaris Defense announced the launch of its new off-road electric vehicle designed to address the low speed vehicle military market.

Polaris Defense Wednesday released its new Polaris EV Low Speed Vehicle, based on the company's Ranger platform. The EV LSV, designed with a 30 horsepower electric motor, is part of an effort to address evolving military vehicle requirements.

Officials say the EV LSV is equipped for on- and off-road applications and has a 1,000-pound payload capacity.

"We are excited to introduce the Polaris EV LSV to the military market," Mark McCormick, Polaris Defense managing director, said in a statement.

"The features and superiority of our product will greatly benefit applications that require vehicles with on and off-road capabilities."
