SAN FRANCISCO, June 13 (UPI) -- Apple is expected to kick off its annual World Wide Developers Conference on Monday with the announcement of a smarter Siri.

The 5-year-old iPhone feature will likely get a serious upgrade and be expanded for use in Macs, experts said. The annual conference, an event for developers, is also likely to feature upgrades to Apple Music and the OS X operating system.

After years of Apple's competitors catching up, Siri, the voice-operated virtual assistant, will finally get improvements in how it interprets and processes information, which should make it more conversational and able to understand context.

Apple Music is expected to get a simpler interface with a greater emphasis on being able to personalize your streaming music. Apple Pay will an expansion with greater usability on the web with your iPhone.

OS X is expected to get a new name, MacOS, but something more could be coming.

Apple has managed to keep a lid on any details about updates to tvOS and watchOS, so there could be big surprises in store, or essentially nothing new to say.

WWDC's main event begins at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
