Baby jogger jump seats recalled

WASHINGTON, March 2 (UPI) -- Richmond, Va., distributor Baby Jogger LLC is recalling 1,545 jump seats for strollers because of a problem securing them, a federal watchdog agency said.

An additional 450 Baby Jogger Jump Seats were sold in Canada, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission said in a statement.

The seats do not properly lock into place, posting a fall hazard for children.

The recall involves fabric seat accessories with the name "Baby Jogger" on the front. They are attached with a mounting bracket to Baby Jogger City Elite, Baby Jogger City Classic or Baby Jogger Summit strollers.

They were imported from China and sold nationwide from January 2008 through July 2010 for about $100.

Consumers were advised to stop using the jump seat accessory and contact Baby Jogger to receive free safety straps and assembly instructions.

Consumers can call 877-506-2213 for information.
