WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Pier 1 Imports tea lights due to a fire hazard.
About 370,000 Golden tea lights with ornament tea light holders were imported from China and sold at Pier 1 stores from September 2010 through January 2011 for between $2 and $8.
The commission said the flame from the tea lights can reach dangerous heights, posing a fire hazard.
The recall involves tea lights in golden tin cups sold in sets of five with either the Red Ornament Tea Light Holder or the White Ornament Tea Light Holder.
An additional 30,000 were sold in Canada.
Consumers were advised to stop using them and return them to a Pier 1 store for a replacement.
