It takes $2 billion to be China's richest

BEIJING, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- China has a new heir to the title of nation's richest person, an industrialist worth more than $2 billion.

Whereas in the each of the last two years Larry Rong Zhijian, head of CITIC Pacific Group, led the Forbes' 400 Richest Chinese List with a net worth estimated last year at around $1.6 billion, two others have eclipsed him.

Shi Zhengrong, chief executive officer of Suntech Power Co with a net worth of $2.2 billion and Huang Guangyu, president of Gome Appliances with a net worth of $2.1 billion now top the list, Xinhua said Tuesday.

The world's richest person, Bill Gates, is worth about $53 billion.
