Merkle buys Sigma Analytics

LANHAM, Md., May 18 (UPI) -- Merkle of Maryland said Tuesday it acquired Sigma Analytics and Consulting, an Atlanta consulting firm.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Merkle is an information-based database marketing agency while Sigma Analytics and Consulting specializes in developing statistical solutions for both risk and marketing applications.

Merkle said the deal will allow it to offer a wider portfolio of analytical products and services primarily focused to the financial services marketplace. Both companies are privately held.

With the agreement, Sigma Analytics will continue to operate in Atlanta with its current staff as a new division within Merkle's Data Solutions group.

Merkle's president and chief executive officer, David Williams, said, "We are extremely excited to be welcoming Sigma Analytics into the Merkle family."

Sigma founder David Kelly said, "Sigma Analytics is pleased to be joining the Merkle team. Merkle is an acknowledged industry leader in the database marketing field, and we believe that we can make a positive contribution to Merkle's continued success and growth."
