NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The Navy said it has christened the most expensive warship ever built, the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, in a Virginia shipyard.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- The first ship of a new class of aircraft carrier is being christened Saturday by the U.S. Navy at the Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News shipyard.

PATUXENT RIVER, Md., July 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy's Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, which is replacing steam catapults aboard future aircraft carriers, is entering Phase 2 testing.
