The L. condom company is starting a service where a person can order a box of condoms online, and they will be delivered by a bike messenger within an hour in a discreet black box, right to the person's door. The delivery fee is a reasonable $5. The idea is to save people from the potentially embarrassing ritual of going to the pharmacy and buying condoms, or to make it easier when they can't get to the pharmacy.
The service is beginning on the very appropriate date of Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. At the moment, the service is only available in San Francisco and Los Angeles, but the company hopes to make it available in more cities by the end of 2014. For those who are celebrating Valentine's, they can opt to add a bouquet of locally grown flowers and a bottle of wine.
