SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- No one will be saying cheers by drinking the King of Beers at Budweiser's traditional Winter Olympics party because Anheuser-Busch reportedly isn’t comfortable with having its U.S.-based representatives in Sochi.

TMZ Sports reports that an email from a Budweiser rep confirms that the party has been cancelled because the “terrorist threat is simply looming too large.”

Anheuser-Busch did have parties at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and at the 2006 Olympics in Turin but it sounds as if Club Bud will remain closed in 2014.

Although a company rep did confirm that the party has been canceled, they declined to say why.

This situation apparently really upset former NBA player Cedric Ceballos and he declared that Anheuser-Busch should declare an “all out P.R. war on Russia.”

"I think they should come out with a statement,” Ceballos said. “I mean, they always make statements in commercials with their product, somebody either the President or the CEO should make a statement."
