NEW YORK, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Mia and Ronan Farrow's responses to Woody Allen's tribute at the Golden Globe Awards last month brought decades-old sexual abuse allegations back into the headlines. The 68-year-old actress has long maintained that the famed director sexually abused her adopted daughter, Dylan, though Allen was never prosecuted and has denied all claims.
Though Dylan Farrow was quoted in a widely read Vanity Fair article last year, she publicly recalled the abuse for the first time ever in an open letter to The New York Times on Saturday.
"What’s your favorite Woody Allen movie? Before you answer, you should know: when I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house," Farrow wrote. "He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me."
Farrow also named actors and actresses who have worked with Allen and so whole-heartedly supported his talents at last month's Golden Globes.

Blanchett, who received an Oscar nomination for her work with Allen in Blue Jasmine, spoke to a reporter at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday night.
"It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some sort of resolution and peace," Blanchett reportedly said.
Baldwin was characteristically less reserved in his response.
"What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle?" he told a Twitter user who had asked him about the letter.
"So you know who's guilty? Who's lying? You, personally, know that?" he said in another tweet. "You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue."
