Julianna Margulies opened up about what her Architectural Digest-featured apartment really looks like while appearing on The Ellen Show Tuesday.

In the pages of the famous glossy, The Good Wife's apartment -- designed by Vicente Wolf -- is gorgeous and bright, but in real-life it's pretty much a wet mess.

The Emmy-winner told DeGeneres that her apartment flooded over Christmas break when she went skiing with her family. The problems began on the day she was flying back home, when a winter storm hit the east coast prompting her journey from Colorado to New York City to take 30 hours.

"The whole time I kept saying to my son, 'We have our health,'" she said of traveling in undesirable whether conditions. "We actually enjoyed it. We went and stayed at the Marriott in Denver. The airport Marriott, the beds were very comfortable. We were fine and then they lost our luggage, and that's fine. It happens."

But things were only about to get worse.

"We walked into our brand-new apartment with this [magazine] -- it was in the mail -- and everything was flooded," she says. "The whole place had completely flooded from the guy upstairs."

Asked what prompted the flood, Margulies explained her upstairs neighbor's radiator exploded.

"At least we have pictures," she joked.

"Of what it used to look like," DeGeneres added. "It looked amazing."
