Jan. 9 (UPI) -- "It's a good thing it's not awkward," Nina Dobrev said with a faux-awkward glance at her onscreen lover and real-life ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder at the People's Choice Award on Wednesday.
The two had stepped onstage to pick up their much-deserved award for "Best Chemistry," which they managed to maintain for months onscreen after their breakup last May.

Somerhalder also took to Twitter to wish his ex, who turned 25 on Thursday, a happy birthday.
Happy Birthday @ninadobrev !!! The world loves you!We all do;) Enjoy the moment, enjoy the day, enjoy the year!
