Jan. 7 (UPI) -- It's not everyday you get the chance to impress your idol at his own game. Justin, a 12-year-old Jay Z fan from Maryland, got the chance to show off his talents at Hova's concert in Greensboro, N.C., on Sunday night.
Jay Z pulled the little performer up on stage when he saw a sign that read, "Can I Rap For You?". Justin turned down backing music, and deftly performed an a capella version of Jay Z's "Clique," until the astonished 44-year-old rapper stopped him briefly and told him to leave out the "drug-dealing part" of the verse.
"Not the drug dealing part. Go back to the numbers," he joked.
At the end of the performance, Jay Z gave him a hug and ceded to Justin's request for a backstage invite.
“Yes you can, just because of the nerve,” Jay Z said.
