Ashley Judd releases statement about tracking device on her car

Ashley Judd opened up about the tracking device she accused her sister of putting in her car in a statement she released via social media on Wednesday.

"I have few statements in 17 years as an actor. Due egregious media conduct, here is one now," the actress wrote on Twitter with a link to her declaration.

In her statement, Judd accused the media of barraging the police station that is handling her case with calls and emails that are keeping them from their "priorities in law enforcement and civic management."

"The media is unfortunately aggressively pursuing and publishing details, some of which should be private and confidential, such as my cell phone number, in their attempt to create salacious and divisive 'news,'" she wrote, adding that "A very fine career detective has been suspended for a moment of poor judgment for succumbing to media invasiveness."

Judd, 45, filed a police report last month accusing her sister, singer Wynonna Judd, of placing a GPS tracking device on the car or hiring someone to do it for her.

The report unveiled that the sisters are involved in a custody dispute over an unnamed female driver of the car, but that the case had been declared inactive when police found no leads.

Wynonna Judd called police after the report had been filed and told them she had given the device to her ex-husband Arch Kelley, who she claims was the one to put it inside the car. Kelley denied the claims.

The actress finished her statement, saying she hopes authorities are able to unravel the case in spite of media speculation.

"It is my, and everyone’s, responsibility to take routine action when any law is broken. I hope the law enforcement officials can continue to do their jobs in spite of media speculation, pressure and poor conduct,"
