Courtney Stodden debuts brunette locks [PHOTO]

Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Reality star Courtney Stodden said she feels "born again" after dying her trademark blond locks to brunette one month after splitting from husband, actor Doug Hutchison.

The "Celebrity Big Brother U.K." star showed off her newly colored tresses at the Wowie Awards Thursday.

Stodden, 19, and Hutchison, 53, called it quits after two years of marriage in December.

"After Courtney experienced being in 'Celebrity Big Brother' in the U.K. she realized that there is this whole world out there to explore," a source told Us Weekly of the breakup.

"Lately I've been a little bit of a daredevil, and I'm trying to enter into the next chapter of my life," Stodden told Us Weekly Thursday at the Globe Theatre in L.A. "I thought this was kind of a good example to prove to myself that I can do it. It was a huge risk, but I'm glad I did it.

"It's really new. When I walk by a mirror I'm thinking I'm blonde," she said of her new look. "Like, 'Oh my God -- who is that? It's me!'

"I feel born again," she added. "I'm excited to go out and see the life of a brunette."
