LAS VEGAS, June 20 (UPI) -- Actor and writer Doug Hutchison, 51, announced on his Web site Monday he has married his 16-year-old girlfriend Courtney Stodden in Las Vegas.
The "Con Air" and "The Green Mile" co-star, who has also appeared on TV's "Lost" and "24," said he wed Stodden May 20 in The Little Chapel of Flowers.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison live together happily ensconced in their Hollywood Hills home with their lil' pups, Everette and Tuna!" Hutchison wrote online.
UsMagazine.com described Stodden as an aspiring country music singer.
"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple said in a statement issued to E! Online. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."
UsMagazine.com said one of Stodden's parents gave their consent to the marriage because 18 is the legal age to wed in Nevada.
