Afghanistan blast at arms depot an "accident" -- no casualties

Afghan authorities reported that the explosion tweeted about by NATO was the result of an accident at the arms depot of the Afghan National Directorate of Security; no casualties.

Dec. 12 (UPI) -- An explosion in Kabul today was the result of an accident at the arms depot of the Afghan National Directorate of Security, according to Afghan officials.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Siddiq Siddiqui reported that it was not a terrorist act.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan tweeted confirmation of "an explosion outside of #ISAF HQ around 1020..." followed by an "all clear" tweet an hour later.

Today's accidental blast follows a suicide car bomb explosion yesterday on a road near Kabul International Airport that resulted in no other casualties.
