Simon Cowell's pregnant girlfriend finalizes divorce

Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Lauren Silverman, the New York socialite expecting Simon Cowell's baby, finalized her divorce from Andrew Silverman on Wednesday, freeing her to marry the X Factor judge.

Both Lauren and Andrew agreed to joint custody over their 7-year-old son, and Lauren will reportedly receive a $2 million settlement.

Though there's no official word on whether the 54-year-old television personality will propose to the brunette, though he is rumored to have bought an engagement ring.

"Simon has an engagement ring, but is being secretive about the proposal," a source told People last month. "Simon is flying to the Caribbean for the Christmas holiday. Lauren will join him for parts of the holiday trip. Simon could be planning a special holiday proposal. It seems he will definitely propose."

Silverman and Cowell made headlines last August, when word broke that the former American Idol judge had gotten his friend's wife pregnant. Andrew filed for divorce back in July, when he learned that his 36-year-old wife had had an affair, citing adultery as the reason behind the split and Cowell as the man responsible.

"There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right, but I really have to be sensitive because there's a lot of people's feelings involved here," Cowell said at the time.
