Nov. 25 (UPI) -- David O. Russell's follow-up to last year's awards-show darling Silver Linings Playbook reportedly impressed SAG Award voters during the film's first-ever screening on Sunday. Though we won't see official reviews for a week, social media users and entertainment reporters hinted at a warm reception for American Hustle and possible nominations for Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of the cast.

"Big thumbs up," Variety's Tim Gray wrote.

"[Jennifer Lawrence] is simply dazzling as Bale’s wife, a total knockout scene-stealer throughout," wrote Deadline's Pete Hammond. "If she hadn’t already won last year as Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook, there is no doubt she might be unbeatable here."

The Wrap cited more mixed reaction on social media.

"The film doesn’t go down as smoothly as Russell’s last, Silver Linings Playbook; it’s odder and more ambitious, the kind of film that deserves contemplation rather than a rush to judgment."

Another clip from the film, once again starring Lawrence, hit the web this week.
