There's a rumor out there that one of the world's greatest actresses could take on the role of former "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle.

Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Meryl Streep has already portrayed Julia Child, Margaret Thatcher and a dramatized version of icy Vogue editor Anna Wintour, so who will the 64-year-old three-time Oscar winner tackle next?

Susan Boyle, the 52-year-old Scottish singer whose 2009 performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" received a standing ovation on Britain's Got Talent -- both because she was talented and because the judging panel seemed surprised that a dowdy middle-aged woman could sing.

Boyle, who announced last month that a film about her life was in the works, said Sunday that producers had "approached" Streep, who's more than a decade older than the reality show alum.

"I wouldn’t like to be in the film myself," Boyle said. "I’d like someone to play me. Probably Meryl Streep -- I understand she has been approached."

While this is obviously an unconfirmed rumor and Streep's name gets tossed around for biopics about any woman of a certain age, she does have the singing chops. The actress played Donna in 2008's film adaptation of Mamma Mia!
