(UPI) -- In an odd turn of events Red Sox manager John Farrell found himself rooting against a boy he used to babysit: St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday.
According to MLB, Farell's bond to the Holliday family comes from the time when he pitched at Oklahoma State under Holliday's father, Tom Holliday. The Red Sox skipper eventually went on to coach alongside Tom and even babysat his kids on occasion.
