Rescue crews found the couple Tuesday morning, after airport communications lost contact with the plane around 2 p.m. Monday.

"It was a boom!" Phyllis Turner Sisk, who lives near the crash site, said of the loud noise she heard around 2:15 pm on Monday. "I thought what on earth is going on?"

"It was cloudy and rainy in the vicinity of where the plane disappeared. The terrain is mountainous," read an Federal Aviation Administration statement released prior to the plane's discovery.

“They were special people,” Oklahoma state Sen. Rick Brinkley, a family friend, told Tulsa World. “Adina was so kind and loving. I’m just so sick for the family.”
