Jelena Jankovic withdraws from Japan Open

Jelena Jankovic is not going to Japan's Women's Open.

Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic pulled out of the Japan Women's Open over an injury to her left hip.

The 28-year-old player received medical treatment for the injury during the second set of her 6-2, 6-2 loss to Serena Williams during Sunday's China Open final in Beijing.

After finishing as the runner up in the China Open, which incidentally earned her a $430,365 prize, Jankovic announced that she was back in the top 10 via Twitter.

Neither Jankovic nor her rep have commented on the gravity of her injury since Sunday's game.
