As most gossipmongers predicted, Miley Cyrus' on-again, off-again relationship with Australian actor Liam Hemsworth started falling apart long before they confirmed their split Sept. 16. It was around February -- the month that Hemsworth was spotted heading home with January Jones -- that the 20-year-old wanted to leave her fiancé, according to a new interview with the flamboyant singer in Canada's Fashion magazine.

Cyrus said she wrote the song, "Drive," about the end of their romance.

"I wrote it while I was working on Valentine's Day -- emotionally it was such a hard time," she said of the song. "It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on."

Cyrus' "Bangerz" album drops Oct. 4, so fans have only read a few of the song's lyrics.

“We can just drive away from my troubles, drive far away where no one can find us, drive ’til our hands get blue and pain gets in our hearts," she reportedly sings on the track.
