"Grey's Anatomy" cast members are known for speaking their minds, and Meredith Grey herself didn't shy away from criticizing Sunday night's Emmy Awards telecast -- which featured a bizarre dance number, a nightmare room full of televisions and far too many memorial segments.

But Ellen Pompeo noticed another problem.

"I didn't see any diversity in the Emmys at all," the 43-year-old said in an interview. "The Emmys felt so dated to me...That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?"

Pompeo's show, "Grey's Anatomy," didn't receive any nominations this year, but she said she's proud of Shonda Rimes' diverse casting choices.

"I'm extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast which represents the world I walk around in any day," she said.
