"It's so silly to be emotional is it?" Jim Parsons said when he gratefully accepted his award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2013 Emmy Awards.

Sunday night marked Parson's third Emmy for his role as Sheldon Cooper on CBS' mega-hit "Big Bang Theory." He won two in a row back in 2010 and 2011.

"My heart, oh my heart. Boy, I want you to know that I'm very aware how exceedingly fortunate I am. First, to have the chance to do this role in this show," said during his acceptance speech.

When the music started to play him of the stage, Parsons said, ""You know what, I will. I'll wrap it up."

Oh, and my favorite person on earth, Todd Spiewak," Parsons concluded, thanking his longtime boyfriend. "Thank you all, very much."

Deadline described the 40-year-old actor as seeming "slightly shellshocked" when speaking to reporters backstage.

He compared his win to “the feeling you have when you narrowly miss getting into a car accident."

"The adrenalin that drives up is so severe. I’m not sure if it’s a psychological disorder or the name of the game," Parsons said.
