A California judge has placed Amanda Bynes on an extended 30-day psychiatric hold.

TMZ reports that the doctors at the psychiatric hospital where Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold on July 23 determined that the former Nickelodeon star wasn't well enough to attend today's court hearing in which her parents were trying to get a temporary conservatorship.

The judge, who reportedly went to the hospital to check on Bynes at the doctor's request, determined that she stayed hospitalized for 30 more days.

Laws on the matter reportedly state that doctors can only make such requests if the patient is "gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder."

According to the celebrity gossip site, the 27-year-old's parents will continue to pursue a conservatorship that would stay in effect until September 30. If granted, the conservatorship would allow Bynes's parents to have control over her finances.
