Jennifer Lawrence: Oscar in Kentucky, advice for Shailene Woodley

Jennifer Lawrence told Access Hollywood she didn't keep the Oscar she won in 2013 in her house because it "kind of puts a weird energy out."

"My parents took it back to Kentucky, because I felt odd having it, like, on display in my house," said the 22-year-old star who received the Academy Award in 2013 for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook."

"If anybody's coming over to my house, I didn't want them to remember that. Just kind of puts a weird energy out," she added.

In spite of her two Academy Award nominations and the fact that she stars in one the of the biggest movie franchises out there, the "Hunger Games" star is known for her informal manners and down to earth ways. Enter the time she joked about beating Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes and tripped on her way to receive the Oscar for Best Actress during the 2013 Academy Awards.

So when she was asked by Shailene Woodley, who is about to take on the role of Beatrice "Tris" Prior in the upcoming film, "Divergent," if she'd do it over again, Lawrence had the perfect answer:

"She asked, basically, 'If you had the opportunity to do this again, would you? Because it's scary. It's life changing,'" Jennifer, who had her own doubts about signing on to play Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" movies, shared. "And I said, 'Yes. As many things change, as many things are horrible and scary, it's worth it if you love the movie,' which she did."

Lawrence's latest film "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hits theaters on November 22.
