May 29 (UPI) -- Tea Party favorite and congressional bomb-thrower Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., won't be seeking reelection for a fifth term in the House of Representatives.

The controversial congresswoman and one-time presidential candidate announced her decision not to run in 2014 in a video released on her campaign website and on YouTube.

"The law limits anyone from serving as president of the United States for more than eight years, and in my opinion, well, eight years is also long enough for an individual to serve as a representative for a specific Congressional district," Bachmann said.

She also denied any wrongdoing and expressed certainty she would be cleared in an ongoing ethics investigation looking into the practices of her presidential campaign.
