Microsoft and Pizza Hut have partnered up to create an app that allows users to order pizza from their Xbox 360's.

Polygon reports the app lets users order from the chain's full menu of pizza, pasta, bread-sticks and chicken wing dishes.

According to Xbox's Larry Hryb, the app has been in the works for a while and it's the first of its kind.

"We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in," he said. "If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn't? It has international appeal, and Pizza Hut is a recognized brand that matches up well with the Xbox brand."

Hryb noted Pizza Hut has always been a pioneer when it comes to online ordering. The chain launched the ability to order food online in 1994, making this move "a logical progression."

"Pizza Hut has always showed affinity for new ways to order products," he said. "Now we can do it on console."

The app was launched on April 23 and offers Xbox users a 15 percent discount off their first order as long as they download the app and make a purchase before May 6.
