April 19 (UPI) -- A Kenyan trapeze artist suffered a horrifying fall while performing at the Moscow Circus, tumbling head-first 85 feet to the ground.

Karo Christopher Kazungu, 22, reportedly suffered a fractured vertebra on March 13 when he broke through the safety net and landed hard.

The Great Moscow State Circus said Kazungu was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
