"Today" weekend anchor Jenna Wolfe made a report of more personal nature Wednesday, coming out with her partner of three years, NBC correspondent Stephanie Gosk and announcing the impending birth of their first child together.

Wolfe, who is carrying the couple's baby girl, said on Wednesday's "Today" she felt compelled to come out for their child.

"This is the most exciting thing that's ever happened to us, but I don't want to bring my daughter into a world where I'm not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is," Wolfe told People.

Gosk agrees: "The beauty is that we live in a time where there's no need for secrecy. This is a spectacular moment for us."

Wolfe underwent artificial insemination after the pair decided to start a family, and plans to blog about her experience becoming a first-time mom.

"We didn't put in an order, we got a girl, we're super excited," Wolfe told her "Today" colleagues.
