When a pair of brides-to-be were denied a wedding cake by an Oregon baker who said same-sex marriage was against his religious beliefs, Charming City's most recognizable cake connoisseur stepped to the rescue.

Charm City Cakes executive pastry chef and former Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman heard about the act of sweet discrimination, he offered to make and deliver a cake all the way from Baltimore to the couple's wedding--for free.

After seeing a story on the Huffington Post, Goldman tweeted, "I'll make that cake for free."

Goldman spoke about his offer on HuffPost Live, jumping at the opportunity to right what he saw as a wrong.

"I saw this story and I was like, 'Wait -- I can do something, there’s injustice involving a cake!'," he said.

Goldman had some pretty harsh words for the baker, Aaron Klein of Sweet Cakes Bakery, who said that he doesn't consider himself to be anti-gay.

"For a cake decorator to really feel like he really needed to take a stand…it just makes absolutely no sense," Goldman said. "It’s petty, it’s small…this man has wrapped up his hatred in the cloak of religion.”

Klein, for his part, could face discrimination charges for his decision, which may have violated the Oregon Equality Act of 2007. The law's purview includes public accommodations such as businesses, but he may be off the hook since religious beliefs are Constitutionally protected.
