Curiosity dedicates landing spot to Ray Bradbury

Bradbury, who passed away just a few months ago, would have been 92 today. Curiosity (or rather, the NASA scientists behind it) named a spot on Mars after the inspirational author.

The Mars rover Curiosity has spent its first few weeks on the Red Planet checking out the view, updating its software, and most recently, stretching its arm.

On the occasion of Ray Bradbury's birthday, Curiosity (or rather, the NASA scientists who determine this kind of thing) has dedicated its landing spot to the late author, who died on June 5. Forever more, Curiosity began its martian journey at Bradbury Landing.

Bradbury's first novel, more a collection of connected short stories, was The Martian Chronicles, so it's a fitting dedication. He would have been 92.
