Jet crashes into hangar, causes damage

CHINO, Calif., June 14 (UPI) -- A jet crashed into a hangar at the Chino, Calif., airport as it was being serviced, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday as mechanics were testing jet engines at the airport, The (Riverside, Calif.) Press-Enterprise reported.

Chino police spokesman Michelle Van Der Linden said she did not know what caused the jet to hop over the rubber stops put in front of its wheels to keep it from moving, and crash into the hangar at Encore Jet Center -- a service station for jets.

The rogue jet made it about 100 feet inside the hangar before coming to a stop.

Three people who were servicing the jet at the time of the incident declined medical treatment.
