2 survive when their plane plows into house in Washington state

EATONVILLE, Wash., May 31 (UPI) -- A small airplane hit an unoccupied house in Eatonville, Wash., Thursday evening. The two men aboard the plane emerged without serious injury, authorities said.

Eatonville Fire Chief Bob Hudspeth said the men were on a flight from Oregon to Seattle when they encountered bad weather in the Eatonville area shortly after 5 p.m. PDT, KOMO-TV, Seattle, reported.

He said the pilot decided to land at Swanson Field Airport in Eatonville but somehow missed the runway and the Cessna 172 came down in the front yard of the home and skidded into it.

The pilot and passenger suffered only minor injuries and the house sustained minor damage, the TV station said.
