Kids allegedly set pit bull on women

SEATTLE, June 24 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old Seattle-area girl has been charged with abusing a pit bull and then setting the dog on two women who tried to intervene.

Three boys, ages 11, 12 and 13, have also been charged, The Seattle Times reported.

The first woman, age 63, saw the children kicking the dog Sunday evening on a street in SeaTac, John Urquhart, a spokesman for the King County Sheriff's Office, said. She said when she pulled over the girl opened the passenger door of her car and began pulling her hair.

The girl chased her when she tried to run and then one of the boys pursued her with the dog.

The second woman, 41, said she followed the group to a park where the girl punched her and the boys set the dog on her. She suffered serious injuries.

One of the victims told KOMO-TV she does not believe the dog is at fault, that the problem was the children. The 15-year-old's mother disagreed.

"I know for a fact (that) my dog, Snaps, was defending my daughter," Cynthia Davis said. "One woman got in a confrontation with my daughter. And then the other woman came in."

The children were released to their families.
