Obamas attend church, prepare for egg roll

WASHINGTON, April 12 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama and his family Sunday attended Easter services at a Protestant Church across from the White House.

The Obamas attended church at historic St. John's Episcopal Church -- the same church where they attended a private service on Inauguration Day as part of a tradition started by Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The Obamas have still not settled on a family church, White House officials told the Washington Post.

In a week of firsts, the Obamas Saturday night attended their first private dinner away from the White House at the Georgetown home of Valerie Jarrett, a long-time family friend and now senior White House adviser.

The first family will host its first Easter Egg roll at the White House Monday, and Tuesday, the family is expected to present its first dog, a 6-month-old Portuguese water dog named Bo.

On Thursday, Obama is expected to make his first trip as president to neighboring Mexico.
