Sources told the Observer Davidson was shocked with stun guns at least three times by more than one officer. His family said they were told he had been stunned twice.

Davidson was arrested Saturday afternoon after employees at a Food Lion alleged he left the store with groceries for which he had not paid. He did not take the groceries from the parking lot.

Police found him near the store and said he had a gift card he had allegedly shoplifted.

Tom Anderson, assistant chief of the Statesville Police Department, said Anderson became unruly while being booked at the jail and was shot with a stun gun. He was taken to a hospital after a nurse reported he appeared to be impaired.
