Vandals damage cars on gay pride day

DES MOINES, Iowa, June 26 (UPI) -- Police are conducting a hate crimes investigation after several cars were vandalized during gay pride observances in Des Moines, Iowa.

Investigators say someone used shaving cream to stick pictures of naked men on three vehicles, all owned by women. Images of male genitalia were scratched into the doors and hoods of at least five other vehicles and some had racist expletives keyed into the paint, the Des Moines Register reported Monday.
