Suspected in strangling, man visits wife

MELBOURNE, July 27 (UPI) -- An Australian man accused of trying to have his wife killed was allowed to visit her while her feeding tube was removed Wednesday.

The Brisbane Courier reports Joe Korp is charged with the attempted murder of Maria Korp. Maria is expected to die within the next two weeks and charges against her husband may be increased when that happens.

Prosecutors say Joe and his mistress Tania Herman plotted the murder.

Herman pled guilty to strangling Maria and was sentenced to at least nine years in jail in June and is expected to be the main witness against Joe.
