Christian leader charged in theft

GOLDEN, Colo., May 1 (UPI) -- An evangelical Christian leader has been arrested by Colorado authorities on theft charges, the Denver Post reported Saturday.

Martin Andrew Nalitz Jr of Littleton was arrested Thursday on charges of theft of more than $15,000 involving more than $1 million lost by an investor through fabricated mortgage transactions.

Nalitz also is charged with two felony theft counts for allegedly keeping money from a loan at a mortgage company where he worked and of writing checks to himself on company accounts.

Nalitz was once a Colorado talk show host and a state Christian Coalition organizer during the mid-1990s.
