Report: Some hijackers met prostitutes

BOSTON, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Some of the alleged terrorists may have hired a prostitute in the Boston area in the days before their Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York, it was reported Wednesday.

Others, apparently, were turned off when they found prices sought by prostitutes to be too high.

One prostitute made at least two trips to the Park Inn in nearby Newton on Sept. 9 to have sex with a hijacker, a driver for two escort services told the Boston Herald.

"She went there earlier in the day and then again later in the night," the driver said. "he saw just one guy when I drove her over there. She freaked out when she saw his picture on TV. She recognized one of the faces."

Two of the hijackers aboard American Flight 11 that crashed into the World Trade Center -- Waleed M. Alshehri and Wail Alshehri -- are believed to have spent Sept. 9 in the hotel.

The unidentified driver said the white blond woman was paid $180 in cash for a 20-minute tryst.

The driver also said that in the days before the attack, he took the same woman to the Days Hotel in Boston's Brighton section where some of the hijackers had stayed. The woman told the driver she partied with one of the hijackers at the hotel.

One or more of the hijackers are believed to have stayed at the Days Hotel from Sept. 8-11, the Herald said. Guest records have been confiscated by the FBI, which also has interviewed the driver and the call girl, according to the newspaper.

The driver also said he routinely took women to a male relative of alleged terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden, who had a number of relatives living in the Boston area until many left in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"I drove some of the girls to him," the driver said, adding that the relative often had friends with him. "They were using them right up until the day (the attacks) happened. He used to see the girls once a week. Now, since the bombings, no calls."

The FBI had no comment.

The Boston Globe reported Wednesday that four alleged terrorists called several escort services on the night of Sept. 10 to find out how much it would cost for a prostitute to have sex with the men who were staying at the Milner Hotel in downtown Boston.

"It was going to be really expensive and they couldn't come to a consensus on price, so that was the end of it," one law enforcement source told the Globe. "Either they thought it was too extravagant or they didn't have enough money left. It was over $400 and that was too much."

The Globe previously reported that alleged hijackers Marwan Al-Shehhi, Fayez Rashid Ahmed, Mohand Alshehri and Satam M. A. Al Suqami spent the night of Sept. 10 at the Milner.

Al-Shehhi, Ahmed and Alshehri are believed to have helped hijack United Flight 175 on Sept. 11, while Al Suqami is believed to have joined four others in hijacking American Flight 11, both out of Boston.

Several other hijackers, including alleged ringleader Mohamed Atta, reportedly spent $200 to $300 each on lap dances in the Pink Pony strip club in Florida, while Marwan Al-Shehhi, believed on board the second plane that slammed into the World Trade Center, frequently got lap dances in the Olympic Garden Topless Cabaret in Las Vegas, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
