Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Fans looking to see Vince Carter 'throw down' got what they asked for Tuesday at the FedExForum.

But it wasn't exactly what they had in mind.

The Memphis Grizzlies' springy veteran was ejected with more than 3 minutes remaining in the first quarter against the Phoenix Suns after hitting Devin Booker with an elbow. Carter backed Booker down near the baseline on the play, before taking a quick step around him toward the basket. But before he could get to the rim, Carter used his off hand and swung at the young point guard. His arm appeared to land under Booker's chin, sending him airborne and harshly onto the hardwood.

Booker's teammates rushed over and confronted Carter after the run-in. Booker had nine points at halftime of the contest, while Carter exited with no points in two minutes of action.
