NEW YORK -- Guard Derrick Rose was mysteriously absent from the Knicks' 110-96 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, and New York coach Jeff Hornacek shed no light on the situation postgame.

Pregame, the team announced that Rose was "not with the team." Rose was listed in the original starting lineup, but he was not in the locker room before the game. He was replaced by Brandon Jennings, who scored 20 points.

Following the defeat, Hornacek said, "We don't have enough information on Derrick right now to give you anything. We have to hear from Derrick himself.

"We expect him back. ... Everything will become clearer later on. We want to respect whatever he's going through."

Knicks center Joakim Noah said after the game that he spoke with Rose earlier in the day, adding "He's OK ... I think it's a relief for all of us."

The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the team couldn't locate Rose before the game and that the guard has been frustrated by the team's struggles and his reduced role. Rose and Hornacek have a strained relationship, according to Wojnarowski.
