Tight end Jordan Cameron agreed to a restructured contract to remain with the Miami Dolphins for the 2016 season.
Cameron, 27, signed with the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent in 2015.
The Dolphins will reduce his salary from $7.5 million to $6 million, FOX Sports reported Tuesday.
Miami has been active in recent days, restructuring the contracts of defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and linebacker Koa Misi and agreeing to acquire cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso from the Philadelphia Eagles for undisclosed draft picks.
Cameron signed a two-year, $15 million deal in March 2015 after a 2014 season marred by multiple concussions with the Cleveland Browns. He had 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns last season.
New Miami head coach Adam Gase tends to showcase tight ends in his offense. Last season in Chicago, Martellus Bennett and Zach Miller combined for 87 receptions and eight touchdowns.
In 2014 with the Denver Broncos, tight end Julius Thomas caught 12 touchdown passes.
