The Jacksonville Jaguars kept backup quarterback Chad Henne in the fold by signing him to a two-year contract on Thursday. Published reports state that Henne's deal is worth $8 million and includes playing-time incentives.
Henne serves as the backup to Blake Bortles and didn't take a single snap in 2015.
"We felt like coming into it, Jacksonville was a good spot," Henne told the Florida Times-Union. "There was always opportunities like I said, to kind of venture out, kind of jump out and play again.
"Really, there's not that many opportunities like that out there and those teams that needed a quarterback are most likely going to be in the same situation - draft a quarterback - and then I'd be in that same position again. Why not be here where I feel comfortable and love working with Blake?"
Henne just completed a two-year, $4 million deal with Jacksonville.
Henne, 30, is entering his ninth NFL season. He has an 18-35 career record as a starting quarterback.
He has thrown 58 career touchdown passes and been intercepted 63 times.
Henne was a second-round draft selection in 2008 by the Miami Dolphins.
