MLB: Philadelphia 9, Arizona 5

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Roy Halladay returned from an injury with a strong outing Sunday, holding Arizona to two runs in the Philadelphia's 9-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Halladay (3-4), who was placed on the disabled list in May after right shoulder surgery, went six innings, yielding a pair of runs on four hits. The two-time Cy Young Award winner walked two and struck out two.

John Mayberry pounded a two-run homer while Roger Bernadina and Cody Asche also contributed two RBI each for the Phillies, who took the rubber match of a three-game series.

Arizona's Patrick Corbin (13-4) absorbed the loss, surrendering nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

A.J. Pollock went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer for the Diamondbacks.
