April 28, 2013 at 7:59 PM

PHOENIX, April 28 (UPI) -- Patrick Corbin held Colorado to two runs over 6 2/3 innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks took advantage of Rockies mistakes in a 4-2 victory Sunday.

Corbin (3-0) logged a fifth straight quality start to begin the season despite surrendering nine hits. The left-hander didn't issue and walk and struck out five.

J.J. Putz yielded a hit and a walk in the ninth but held on to record his fifth save for Arizona, which won three times in its four-game home series.

The Diamondbacks grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Chris Pennington scored on a passed ball by Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario and Gerardo Parra came home on a wild pitch by Jon Garland.

Josh Wilson and Cody Ross each drove in a run for Arizona.

Garland (2-2) allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits over six innings.

Eric Young went 3-for-4 with a run scored for Colorado.
